Explanations

So once again I haven't posted in a LONG time, but this time I have a good reason! Two good reasons in fact.

Number 1:

We are finally in the house and free of the apartment, it was a pain getting everything over here without movers(my husband is such a dork, but now he can brag he did it all in the Subaru). We haven't finished the basement floor yet, so there are a lot of boxes strewn around the house waiting to be unpacked. All of our stuff is in one of the 4 bedrooms, most of it will be going into the basement soon I hope. Once we move all of the scuba stuff, bike stuff, and misc basement things that room will be set up. We are sleeping in another of the bedrooms since I had to suspend activity on the wall demo around the time I last blogged. Mostly because we were so bust moving and getting the apartment inspection ready(got the damage deposit back yay!), but also because I was really sick from my last post to a week or two before Xmas. This was due to the second reason I haven't posted.

Number 2:

I was so sick because I was busy gestating. I am due July 12, and had morning(all day) sickness from week 6 to week 10, with a relapse over Xmas due to either the change in climate travelling to Alberta(cold and dry) or just stress. Basically all I could eat for weeks was apples and toasted bagels with peanut butter. I am feeling so much better though now and hope it lasts for awhile so I can catch up on all the stuff I let pile up, and get the house in gear.

We aren't finding out what it is, although Jason commented the other day that maybe we should have a boy(like we have a choice either way) so that he can buy all of the toys he has wants (but for the baby of course). What he wants are remote controlled tanks, various WWII models and kits, basically stuff he can play with and get away with because he has a kid. We'll see, it'll be awhile until the "sprog" ca play with anything, no matter what the gender.

So that is why I have been out of the loop this time around. Now that I have "broken the seal" and posted again I am hoping(and you have heard it before) that I will get back on track and keep this blog up to date!

Happy New Year!

Update

I am still alive!

So it seems to have taken me a lot longer to recover from the visits than I realised. I was sure I had posted in November but apparently my memory is faulty, so here goes:

1. Everyone finally went home!

2. George and Barbara got planted in their new homes.

3. We have been doing some work on the house (since we have our apartment until the end of December) so things are ready for moving in.
3a. Cleaning and painting the creepy basement

3b. Tearing down a wall between two small bedrooms.

4. Jason has decided he can move everything in our Subaru and has been taking things over a bit at a time to prove this to me, he just wants to be able to tell people he did this, although everyone who hears it will think he is an idiot.

5. The only large things left in our apartment are our bed and the futon(couch).

6. We bought a set of living room furniture(sofa, love seat, and chair).! I have been trying to get off that blasted futon for years and finally it has happened! It gets delivered to the house Dec. 9.

7. We are going home(to Alberta) for xmas but haven't booked our tickets yet.

8. I have to mail all the xmas gifts to England by the end of next week, ugh.

9. I have to buy all of the xmas gifts for England by next week

10. Jason has been in Dallas at a conference since last Saturday and he comes home tomorrow night.

11. He has had steak for dinner every night and so complains about his upset stomach every night. Every night!Come on, I am sure he could have ordered chicken or something, he's supposed to be a smart guy right, but apparently Dallas only serves beef. Whatever.

12. The big stuff is mostly moved, but the small stuff really adds up! Need more boxes.

13. I have been working on a secret project, but I can't say anything here because it should be ready for xmas and people at home read this blog, but if it turns out I'll post about it after the big reveal.

So close

I am in the final stretch! As of 9am Thursday morning we will finally be visitor free! Tommorrow I just have to drive to Toronto(again, for a 3rd time since the onlsaught began), to take my Mother and Granmother to the airport, spend the night, make sure they got off in the morning, drive back to Rochester, and I am free! What will I do first? I am dying to leave my bedroom without a bra on, I have been trapped in a fully clothed state for months!

Meet the "Bush's"

In anticipation of having an actual garden (and not just a bit of dirt next to an apartment step) we went out and purchased some plants.

Jase's parents think the house looks like the White House( I know it doesn't but they are Brits and it is a white house after all), and therefore I would like to introduce you to:

George and Barbara Bush

"Barbara" is an Endless Summer Hydrangea and "George" is a Japanese Barberry (very dense with many thorns). Until we close on the house they will live on our balcony, but once we have the keys they will have a nice new home.
